Santasport Lapland Sports Academy website

The redesign was implemented as a multisite site due to Santasport’s wide range of services; now Santasport’s different brands, such as Corestudio and Lapland Sports Academy, have their own sub-sites where product information can be conveniently displayed from all other multisite sites. The redesign improved the user experience of the site and harmonised the approaches of the site’s content providers. Running a large site is more efficient when the practices are the same across sites.

Website design and implementation

The whole process started with the development of a digital strategy. The digital strategy defined the objectives of the sites and the technical architecture. From the very beginning, the design of the website took into account the different target groups of Santasport. The main website serves leisure visitors, people booking accommodation packages, students and businesses. The structure of the site is structured according to the target group under clear main levels, which form their own entities. A site map was designed to facilitate the work of content creators and crystallise the structure of the site.

Clear customer experience and impressive implementation

The website contains a lot of practical information, so the structure was designed to be as clear as possible. Frequently searched information and pages about Santasport were placed under secondary navigation at the top of the site, with shortcuts to important links. The site was made easier for users to navigate by, for example, lifting the front page to direct them to the information they are looking for. This makes it easier to browse the site, especially on mobile. The site also features a chat-based tool that guides users and allows them to collect contact requests in a convenient way.

The visuals of the website are based on the visual look of Santasport and places were added for attractive lifts. Large image areas add impact and allow the offer to be visually inspected. The services offered by Santasport have their own sub-pages, with a number of different elements for practical use. The site can list, for example, prices, opening hours and contact details.

Clarity and a striking design attractively showcase Santasport’s diverse offerings

Santasport shop – WordPress Lyyti integration

We implemented an online shop for the site using the WooCommerce plugin, which allows you to buy course products directly from the site. Registration for Santasport events is handled through the event management system Lyyti. The store lists all Santasport products and the user product pages all work the same way regardless of the backend system. Any of the modules introduced on the site can also be used on the product pages. The Santasport Shop’s functional search and versatile filtering helps users to easily find what they are looking for in the wide range of products on offer. Santasport does a lot of advertising and the offer varies according to the season. The shop’s products can be promoted as card purchases on different landing pages, allowing the offer to be targeted according to the user’s own interests.

Multisite solution

The website was implemented as a multisite solution, where the different Santasport websites function technically under one website. The multisite brings a number of practical benefits that make it easier to update the site;

The multisite allows you to list information from different websites. This allows Santasport’s different brand sites to list product information on different sites by entering the information in one place

Multisite makes site development cost-effective. The same functionality can be reused on different sites.

Sites can have their own domain name and independent content. The sites appear to the user as completely independent sites.

The user experience on the sites remains consistent. The multisite clarifies the templates to make them consistent, as the sites work in the same way.

Multisite sites are particularly useful for organisations that need more than one online service. The sites are independent sites and run their own domains.

How can we help?

Frequently asked questions

What kind of services do you offer?

Höyry’s services range from website design and development to visual identity and brand concept design, search engine optimization, digital marketing, and online business development. Our goal is to increase your brand’s visibility, strengthen awareness of your products and services, and support their growth in sales.

How do you price your services?

We work on both a project basis and hourly billing. For larger assignments, you will always receive a proposal that includes a solution outline, process description, scope of delivery, and timeline. Smaller tasks are billed hourly, and we can provide a time estimate upon request. Compared to agencies in the Helsinki metropolitan area, we are competitively priced while delivering the same high level of quality.

How quickly can we get started?

We’re agile and can schedule a meeting within the same week. Based on that discussion, we’ll define the scope and provide a clear proposal. Depending on the scale of the project, a website redesign typically takes around three months. Smaller websites, such as one-page sites, can be completed in just a few weeks if needed.
