Smoothie Skin
Cooperation with Bearel, Finland’s largest online store for Korean cosmetics, and Beautyko, an importer of Korean cosmetics, gave us the opportunity to work on a brand new domestic cosmetics brand. Smuuti Skin is designed especially for the Z-generation, so it was important in the branding that the concept is of high quality and interesting to young people, noteworthy and distinctive, and fits the target group’s values and budget.

Korean cosmetics for all
Cosmetics trends include K-beauty, natural cosmetics and veganism, but these are mainly available in specialist cosmetics shops. A clear niche was to launch products in supermarkets for everyone. We designed Smuuti Skin’s brand image, packaging concept and social media platforms. The target groups were involved in the design process through a/b testing, which allowed potential buyers to comment on the brand image and the appearance of the packaging already at the design stage. The work also included extensive competitor mapping to ensure point-of-sale differentiation.

A social sensation boosted sales
Smuuti Skin’s products were heavily hyped on social media even before the launch. When the products went on sale in January in Bearel’s online store and in every Prisma in Finland, all four products sold out in just a couple of days. The success was due to the niche, the right target group and its engagement early on, the attractiveness of the brand and packaging, the price and easy availability, and the clever use of social media. We saw that the role of the brand and packaging concept designer was not just to design beautiful packaging, but to get a defined customer profile to choose the product from all the competing brands. Only then has the designer succeeded in his or her job. We are thrilled to be part of the Smuuti Skin success story that continues in the rest of Europe – when our customers succeed, we succeed.

Marketing that reaches
Smuuti Skin’s marketing excels in versatility, ingenuity and playfulness. In addition to social media, the company is involved in a wide range of events both at home and abroad. We have designed and implemented a wide range of marketing materials for the company: displays for Sokos beauty weeks, shelf endings for Kicks stores, stair and floor furniture for Prismas and partner materials for Ruisrock, Finland’s biggest festival. We have also created launch materials for Smuuti Skin’s new product lines, giveaway product patterns, playful sticker sheets and more traditional magazine and spotlight ads.
Diverse and visually inventive marketing increases your company’s visibility, attracts interest and reaches a wide audience beyond your main target group.

Trade fair stand in Italy
At Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna in Italy, beauty companies and professionals from all over the world will have the opportunity to discover the most interesting elements and phenomena in the sector. The fair is held annually and is one of the most important networking events in the industry at a global level.
We got to design the Smuuti Skin stand from structure to props: over 30 square metres of edible delicious colours and design language in the brand’s signature style. The undulating wall and floor structures created an inviting and memorable space, where visitors could, among other things, chat with company representatives next to giant fruit figurines and explore product samples and brochures under a spilling canopy. The stand was finished off with atmospheric lighting elements embedded in the wall structures and logo sign.
